Lord Sirius Orion Black was born in 1959 to Orion and Walburga Black, and 'gained his majority' following graduation from Hogwarts. He [1] is the current Lord Black and Hammer of the Light, and serves as the protagonist's godfather and as the man chiefly in charge of defense and security related matters in the government of Magical Britain, the Ministry of Magic and holds the position of Chief Auror in the Department of Law Enforcement. He has a seat at the Wizengamot and is a leading member of the Light faction. He has a daughter, godson and is very wealthy.

It is known that Sirius Black lived with his best friend James Potter, of the Potter family, and that the Blacks attempted to force Sirius Black to return to their family dwelling. The Wizengamot denied this move, due to undisclosed reasons, leaving Sirius Black as heir to the Family. His daughter, Alexandra, was born under odd circumstances. It is theorized that the mysterious Jezebel is involved, but no confirmation has been achieved.

Following graduation, it is known that Sirius Black became an Auror, proficient in battle magic and using the notorious Auror Shield. His skill and power has given him the title, 'Hammer of the Light', although that is not believed to be an actual title.

Above all, he is a nice guy to Harry Potter.

Personality[]

Sirius Black is a man with many sources of guilt, responsibility and perhaps some shame. He is connected to Harry Potter's abandonment at the Dursleys by way of his closest friend, his daughter is recently somewhat alienated from him, her mother is not present in her life and Black has clearly had trouble fulfilling his parental obligations as father and 'mother'; he has also not done as his conscience wanted him in with regards to how the Potter's sons were treated. He is person compromised by his loyalties, each of which he takes seriously, including his job, on top of family and friends and above all best friend.

Sirius is however ordinarily a laid-back person who only happens to apply himself intensely to a few important things in life and worries about his daughter. He is a cheerful individual, rarely seen as depressed. Like Alex's mother (whom Sirius never talks about), he was a Gryffindor, and best friends with James Potter. He values his family over almost everything else, opposing respected figures in their defense. He did not desire his daughter to learn the official Lady traits, possibly due to bad memories of his own upbringing, but chose to not stop her learning from Lady Lily Potter.

It is known Sirius Black is utterly opposed to betrothal contracts, due to events involving the mysterious Jezebel.

As an individual, Sirius lets James Potter take the lead on political events, preferring to train as an auror. It is known that after Arthur Weasley informed Sirius about Voldemort's return, Sirius had enough authority or personality to ensure 'Mad-Eye' Moody returned to active duty.

Sirius has subverted the traditional stances of his forefathers but has retained and potentially increased the prestigious reputation and status of the House of Black.

Biography[]

Prior timelines[]

In the first and second timelines Sirius watched his daughter become totally alienated from him. Harry had thought she was 'smart, driven, beautiful and deadly' from what gleaned of Voldemort's visions. She proceeded to join the Dark Lord, becoming a younger and saner Bellatrix Black, pitting herself against her father and his faction, the Light.

Sirius likely believed Harry to be Dark and untrustworthy since he was a Slytherin. He likely believed Harry to be responsible for the Basilisk during second year since Dumbledore and John ensure that Harry is framed. In the second timeline much of this happens again but faster until the Dark Lord's total victory. In this timeline Sirius is most likely killed by Voldemort's forces (of whom his daughter Alexandra Black is a member of) prior to ten year reign.

During the second timeline, Sirius Black donated his library to the Department of Mysteries. This action spurred his daughter, Alexandra Black, to join Lord Voldemort.

Third time line - Early life[]

Wand and gold acquiring arc[]

Sirius is similarly disconnected to Alexandra as time goes on and she finds her identity and self in the traditions of her family, the Dark Arts and children of the Dark, however her proximity to Lord Slytherin and his proxies (Luna, Ginny, etc) allows her to remain away from the clutches of Lord Voldemort or the Dark faction.

Harry makes effort to get in contact with Alexandra, eventually slipping her an invitation to the Greengrass' party. Sirius seems to ingest Alexandra's sleeping potion, eating his biscuits - though there is a small possibility that he'd known about her plans and pretended to sleep as he later reveals he knows more about Alexandra's activities than he lets on.

Political Gray faction arc[]

Following Harry tried to establish a friendship with Alexandra Black, daughter of Sirius Black, but he failed with that task. There was contact between Harry and Lord Slytherin with Alex, but Alex did not trust Harry to train her and Harry couldn't train her as Lord Slytherin all the time, thus leaving a potential ally untrained. They came only to a book exchange agreement. As Lord Slytherin, Harry commands Alexandra's respect and attention whereas her attitude of only toleration and wariness towards Harry Potter inhibits her magical development. However Alexandra's relationships with Luna, Ginny and later others connected to Lord Slytherin allows her to grow her magical power safely, preparing her to cast spells beyond what most of her peers and other hogwarts students are capable of.

Ginny Weasley arc[]

Harry brings Ginny Weasley to the Gray. She drinks a hate potion keyed to John Potter and happened to attract his attention and suspicion. John finds out she had a very expensive gift from a mysterious person and takes it to Sirius who checked and confirmed it was clean. He warned John that according to the law, he'd stolen it, then also tells him that the passcode to unshrink the broomstick was 'Harry's Awesome Broomstick', invoking John's paranoia about his brother.

Eventually, Sirius's cousin Andromeda is brought in to help the Weasley family understand Ginny's sudden change in behaviour.

Sirius examines the memories of the wizard with questionable moral character and finds the forms of the two women hauntingly familiar. He concludes that there was at least one rogue necromancer that was not working alone out there. Later he is given a document about about Muggle smugglers wherein the perpetrator was a man magically disguised as Lucius Malfoy - thus raising the chances of a wizard being involved with possible endagerment of the international statute of secrecy.

The night before the duelling tournament Harry Potter and his friends start to secure the room with the thousand mirrors with a fidelius charm. Dumbledore is alerted to the attempted break in and suspected Lord Voldemort. He was to go through more rooms since he didn't know about the shortcut. It was race to prove who was faster. Harry succeeded in disabling the current fidelius before Dumbledore arrived. Dumbledore instantly realized the fidelius went down, and so Sirius is reluctantly called for help by Dumbledore once he has closed off the whole school in an emergency castle lockdown. Eventually Harry Potter successfully casts his own fidelius charm and everybody including the aurors completely forgets about the Philosopher's stone except for Harry.

Duelling tournament and repercussions arc[]

Sirius Black visited Harry Potter in his cell, explaining he was shocked at how good he was at duelling. Additionally, he admitted to being Harry's godfather and invited Harry to spend some time with him, and especially his daughter, ironically reasoning, since it looked she was heading towards Slytherin, she'll need a good friend in Harry to keep her out of trouble. Harry agreed to it and also explained the reason behind the conjuring he does to stop going amok.

Sirius and James Potter race in their animagi forms to a clearing in the forest and duel. They talk about how Sirius had hunted the 'wizard-muggle drug smuggler', unknowingly hunting his godson Harry Potter who got away every time up until a month ago. Sirius correctly muses that the criminal is likely getting up to other kinds of mischief.

During the Holidays Harry is invited to live with his parents, James and Lily, and agrees to go with them at Alexandra's birthday party, with stipulations that his parents weren't allowed to ask about Lord Slytherin, which they now knew he had to have a connection with.He is also told that he could visit Alex every other day.
